Our mission is to enable all young people in Hertfordshire to discover or develop their own unique musical voice and express themselves through the language of music.
As a DfE funded organisation through Arts Council England, Hertfordshire Music Service is perfectly placed to support the educational, social and emotional outcomes of your pupils.
The music service is here to support your school in the way you need, and there are some inspiring ways HMS can ensure music remains alive and well in your local school community.

The online brochure details all the services HMS can offer your school, and if you have any particular questions about our offer, please contact us.
Having previously frozen the hourly rate for 2 years, HMS has applied a modest increase to the 2022-23 academic year hourly rate, in line with inflation rate of 5%. The new HMS hourly rate is £44.10 per hour.
Please note that all bookings will be an ‘expression of interest’ until we confirm the final details with you during the Summer term. Any requests received after the booking deadline cannot be guaranteed to start in September 2022, although we will do our best to meet all requests.
Before completing the form you can download a copy which has all the questions you will be asked (dependant on school phase).
Webinars
Following on from the success of the twilight webinars last year we held a primary and secondary webinar on Wednesday 20th April 2022.
Our Music Director, Ben Stevens, delivered a short presentation of the services available for 2022-23 and hosted a Q&A session to ensure you have all the information and support you need.
If you were unable to attend please find below a recording of both sessions excluding the Q&A session. If you would like to ask a question about our services please email either:
