Music training for class teachers from HMS

The HMS Primary curriculum team, in collaboration with heads of local music centres, run the Tea and Symphony training programme.

This aims to give classroom teachers and subject leaders free access to six sessions per year, run after school at nine accessible location schools or Music Centres.

You provide the Tea, we’ll provide the Symphony

The sessions are run by expert teachers and are short, focussed and fun. They help you to understand the requirements of the curriculum and to build age and context appropriate skills and resources.

School partners can send as many teachers as they like to the sessions, subject to content and room size.

We currently have Tea and Symphony groups in:

Bishop's Stortford

All sessions are 4.00pm - 5.30pm.

We want to encourage participants to share their own ideas and discuss with each other, so we’re going to run the sessions with a mixture of bringing new resources and people sharing their own resources and discussing them.

Each session will start off with a warm up and then we will split the into two parts – one practical and musical, the other discussive/reflective.

All sessions are 4.15pm to 5.30pm.
