Back to topHow it works

Back to topWhat can we offer your school or setting?

- We provide a professional musician to run a musical instrument session which could be an assembly, a hands on session or a combination of both where we showcase instruments that young people may be interested in learning.
- Following the musical instrument session, we will provide a communications pack for you to promote the offers to your families.
- If families would like to take part they will choose either:
- half a term of group taster lessons
- fast track straight on to individual or shared lessons with a discount of one lesson
- Run the taster lessons for those pupils who chose this option.
- At the end of the series of taster lessons families have the option to continue lessons with a HMS tutor at your school.

If you would like to express an interest for your school to be part of this project, please email either:
Back to topWhat we ask for in return
To make the most of the project and ensure the young people achieve the most out of the sessions we would ask that you work with us to:
- facilitate assemblies/workshops
- send information home to parents/carers
- make sure there is a room for the new teaching
- share progress of the students in the ‘Get Playing project’
Back to topInstrument loan
We understand that investing in instruments, without knowing if children will enjoy playing, can be expensive.
To help, we will provide students with a free loan of an instrument for the duration of the project.
If the student chooses to continue learning with HMS we will extend the loan of the instrument for the rest of the academic year.
Back to topExemptions
Please note that we have some instruments which are exempt from the Get Playing project:
