Instrumental and Vocal Teaching Vacancies

To commence September 2018 : We are looking for enthusiastic and committed teachers of all instruments who are interested in joining our successful instrumental and vocal team. We have an extensive Whole Class Ensemble Teaching programme (First Access) and encourage all new teachers to include this in their work. 

As part of Children’s Services, Hertfordshire Music Service offers first class musical opportunities to thousands of young people in the county. We are an award winning service, recognised for our innovative and successful approach to holistic music education.

We offer a broad and diverse programme of activities including informal / community music and song writing workshops.  For a fuller description go to

Hertfordshire Music Service Pay Scale £17.72 - £24.86 per hour. Progression up the pay scale is through successful annual Appraisal.

Part-time, hourly paid posts will be available for suitable applicants. In special circumstances full time positions may be considered.

We are particularly interested in applications from teachers in the following areas: 

  • Whole Class Ensemble Teaching (First Access)
  • Special educational needs and disabilities or vulnerable children and young people
  • Workshop leaders interested in working in youth and community settings

Some supported training may be available for less experienced applicants.
