Unlock your musical potential throughout the academic year, after school, and in the evenings with tuition in:

  • Brass: cornet, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba
  • Classical and electric guitars
  • Drums and tuned percussion

  • Strings: violin, viola, cello and double bass
  • Woodwind: flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone and bassoon
  • Suzuki: violin and cello.

Need to hire an instrument? For £30 per term, pupils can borrow from our wide range (subject to availability). Read more and apply online via the Access to instruments scheme.

 

Trial lessons

We offer 20-minute trial lessons at St Albans Music School.

Groups and ensembles

We welcome students of all levels to join our music groups and ensembles. They're a great way to improve skill, build confidence and experience the thrill of performing with others.

Your options:

  • from £65 per term - get access to one ensemble of your choice.
  • £115 per term - unlimited access to ensembles in all of our music centres with ensemble membership.

Autumn term 2026

  • Open: 7 September 2026.

  • Half term closure: 26 – 30 October 2026.

  • Closed: 21 December 2026.

 

Spring term 2027

  • Open from: 2 January 2027.

  • Half term closure: 15 – 19 February 2027.

  • Closed: 26 March 2027.

 

Summer term 2027

  • Open: 10 April 2027.

  • Half term closure: 31 May – 4 June 2027.

  • Closed: 23 July 2027.
