James Dickinson - Head of Hertfordshire Music Service

As Lead Partner of the Hertfordshire Music Education Hub, the Music Service is required annually by Arts Council East / DfE to collect information relating to existing musical activity in all Hertfordshire schools.

This data collection is a condition of our funding from Arts Council England.

The funding we receive provided activities and opportunities accessed by 28,000 children across the county (2016 data)

Examples of how the funding is used include; Financial Support for Tuition, Whole Class Instrumental Tuition (First Access) Music Centre Activities, Secondary Music Funding Bids, Instruments, County Groups including County Youth Orchestra, SEND Support (Funky Pie Company) and targeted project work.

Please help us secure this funding by returning this data request to us in whatever format is easiest for you.

We appreciate this is not a statutory requirement but high percentage rates of returns by schools helps us to make the case for ongoing funding for musical opportunities for children and young people in Hertfordshire.

Thank you

James Dickinson (Head of Hertfordshire Music Service)
